Career Center

Student Success Center

The Morse High School Career Center provides assistance to students with their career plans. It is located in room 102 and offers a variety of job and career resources to explore. The career counselor is responsible for career counseling in both college and vocational fields, and will assist students in decision making on what to do after high school. The counselor works with you on job seeking, work experience, and filling job orders from the business and local community. Work permits are also issued by the career counselor. The career aide can assist with college and career information and resources, and help to enroll students in the Regional Occupation Program (ROP), which gives on-the-job training in many fields. Magnet School program information is also available in the career center.

In the fall, all sophomores are given the Career Occupational Preference System, which aides in career decision making for the future. The career center staff also promotes careers by inviting speakers from the business community to visit the school, and talk about their area of expertise. Other information available in the career center are the D.O.T. files, VIEW cards, Chronicle Books, college catalogs, Occupational Outlook Handbook, and the Computerized Guidance Information System (GIS) which has all current data concerning colleges, occupations, and financial aid.
